Kiosk Royal are Carsten Aermes and Hanna Zeckau who studied visual communication at Berlin's finest art school KHB. Our work focuses both on illustration and graphic design – such as editorial, logo, web and book design. Since the formation of Kiosk Royal in 2003, we work a lot for record labels and designed many record and CD covers, i.e. for Shitkatapult, Eminor, Boys Noize Rec and Mute.
Another important sector is the planning and designing of books. We thereby set value on a sensible layout and typography corresponding consistently to the topic. We moreover exercise due care on illustrations. The illustrations in the recently published book Der Schmetterlingskoffer are all hand-drawn by Hanna Zeckau, also those in our book Brehms verlorenes Tierleben, published in 2007. Brehms verlorenes Tierleben won the bronze medal in the International Competition The most beautiful books in the world, was priced one of the most beautiful German books of 2007 and was nominated for the German Design Price in 2008.
